🌿 The Afterparenting Project
A 7-Week Expressive Arts Journey for Healing the Unparented Self
There comes a point where we realize… no one is coming to parent the parts of us that were missed.
This is where after-parenting begins.
The Afterparenting Project is a creative, reflective space for the adult self who had to grow up too soon — the parts of you that learned to adapt, perform, stay small, or hold everything together.
Rooted in the themes of Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents, this 7-week guided experience blends expressive art, somatic reflection, and nervous system-aware practices to help you gently reconnect with yourself — not through pressure, but through curiosity.
Each week offers an invitation to explore who you had to be…and who you’re becoming now.
You don’t need to be an artist.
You just need a willingness to show up honestly — and maybe soften some of the places that have stayed protected for a long time.
What We’ll Explore
Each week includes a themed art prompt and guided somatic reflection:
Meeting the younger parts of you
Understanding emotional survival patterns
Exploring boundaries, voice, and unmet needs
Grief, anger, and the emotions that didn’t get space
Reclaiming identity beyond the roles you had to play
Building self-trust and internal safety
Integrating your story with compassion and choice
What to Expect
Guided expressive art exercises (no skill required)
Somatic check-ins and nervous system awareness practices
Reflection prompts to deepen insight and integration
A small, intentional group space (minimum 6 participants)
A pace that honours your capacity — no rushing, no pressure
